After living in “the city” (Philly that is, not NYC) for the better part of 10 years, I swore I’d never go back to being your average suburbanite. And yet here I am, enjoying walks with Enzo along the quiet, clean streets of south Jersey thinking, “what was I thinking?” Still, there are a few favorite Philly features that tug at my heart strings and bring a rush of appreciation for having been a city girl, and learning that it’s more about the grit than the glamour.
The Ben Franklin Bridge. My absolute favorite monument to gawk at, my crappy old school iPhone picture doesn’t do it justice. The beauty of this bridge is not only the view of the city sparkling as you drive from NJ to Philly, but the views you get while you work on your cardio rather than sit in a car and take the walking path (leashed pups welcome to join). This was time for me to unwind with Enzo, just under a 5 mile round trip from my house in NoLibs, it left him crashed on the floor by the time we got home.
